Kura didn't expect the black haired kid to pick her up, but there were a lot of stray animals around Konoha so she shouldn't be too surprised. He was scratching behind her ears which felt incredibly good and a loud purr escaped her throat. She looked at the man and realized that he was holding a head band, it had the leaf village symbol so he shouldn't be a threat. Kura traced her eyes very carefuly across the silver surface. Something looked ominously familiar about it. The gash across the symbol, she looked deep into her thoughts and only moments later she realized, finally remembered what it was. She slowly brought her eyes back up to the mans eyes. Her chakra flared a little, "A-Akatsuki?" Kura said, while flashbacks of Akatsuki members passing through her neutral village. The then realized she spoke and knew the two ninja were gonna think something was up.

Taakuin laughed heartily at the little kitty's slip and said, "Hey, kid, why not cut out the act and just show up?" He stowed the headband away, keeping the grin on his face and pulling out his pipe, lighting it with his chakra, he took a long puff. He blew out the smoke and said, "And, no, this wasn't the scratch I did to mark myself as Akatsuki, I threw this one away a long time ago," He remembered the headband with the painted village symbol, and the massive scratch through it. "This is the one that Uzumaki Naruto gave me for wanting to leave the village to fight the Akatsuki." He pointed up to Naruto's face with his finger, refusing to look at it, feeling guilty for not being there when his Kage needed him. "I'm just here looking for a strong ninja or two, do you know any?" He said nonchalantly, puffing on the pipe again.

Shishi let out a yell and dropped the cat. "You talk?!" That freaked him out a little bit. He had never heard of a talking animal before, except for summons. Was this cat a summon. Shishi looked at the man again, confused. What was he talking about? Did he see something I couldn't? He activated his Sharingan again and looked at the cat. Except it wasn't a cat. It was a girl disguised a cat. How weird.

That name. Akatsuki... The name sounded so familiar. So...ominous. The old man broke his train of thought when he spoke. 'He knew Naruto-dono?' Shishi reacted harshly. "Konoha needs all the ninja it can get! We are at war!"

Kura drew in a long deep sigh, "Well you caught me, pretty good chakra sensory." Kura didn't want to be overly cocky but when it came chakra sensory, she was damn good at it. Kura poofed into her normal, human body, her long blond hair flowing just above her waist. Kura didn't stand defensively because she felt this man was not a threat, she could definitely smell that. "So why are you in need of ninja? Like this kid said, we are at war, and we have limited shinobi too spare."

Taakuin looked at the Genin incredulously and said, "I realize this kiddo, thats why I need to meet one," He said, and then under his breath, ''Who won't kill me on the spot." He wasn't in good standings with any of the Jounin in the village, having left it again, but he needed to do this. "Look, I just need to know who is considered the strongest in the village right now."

Shishi looked at the girl. She looked familiar. He had definitely seen her around the village before. He looked at this old nin and an idea dawned on him. "I am the strongest genin in the village. I am Konoha's Uchiha legacy. I am the only one in the village. And this girl here, is the strongest genin kunoichi in the village. We are the future of Konoha. Our strongest ninja is Kakashi Hatake, but he is away with the other main jounin on a two month long mission. He won't leave Konoha for anything. He is bound to us."

"Yeah old man, sorry but your out of luck." Kura added, although she was a little creeped out that the kid knew something about her, even if she happened to be the strongest, she wasn't going to argue with the compliment. "You either need to leave, or we'll fight you out of here," Kura got in a defensive position, "Even if you don't want to hurt Konoha." Kura had a sense that this old guy could be a handful, and wanted to avoid fighting at all costs. "What were your plans wit Konoha's ninja anyways?" Kura asked in question, 'If he wasnt a part of Akatsuki, what find of group could he be forming?''

Taakuin laughed at their spunk and said, "You know, I was a lot like you kids when I was a little younger." He inhaled his pipe deeply, not worried about a couple of genin at all. That was something he had picked up after decimating entire armies of Jounin without much trouble. "I need strong ninja to help me with my mission, its along the same lines of what each village wants to do, destroy Akatsuki." He paused for a moment to let it set in, "And I believe taking two ninja from each village and pairing them up in teams might help international relations in ways that could help in the future." He blew the smoke from his lungs and stepped forward, "And I think I only need one Konoha Jounin to talk to, and its very good Kakashi-sama isn't here, he wouldn't like seeing me very much." He shuddered at the thought of meeting with the Jounin who had such a talent with his Sharingan.

Shishi nodded, agreeing with the female. When she told him to leave, Shishi activated his Sharingan and got in a defensive stance. He would fight with her. He adjusted his headband and got back into stance. Sure he was a genin, but he had some surprises in him. He was Konoha's number one genin. 'Destroy the Akatsuki...? What does he mean....?'

He looked the older ninja in the eyes. "Well you can leave, because no jounin will talk to you. We don't have time to entertain the dreams of an old man! We have dreams of our own!"

Kura nodded in agreement with this Shishi kid. Kura didn't ever activate her Dojutsu unless she absolutely needed it, "Really, you should leave. We are trying to protect our village as much as any others, but don't get me wrong, your idea is good, and i would do anything to eliminate the Akatsuki and evils of the ninja world, but we are trying our best as leaf ninja to protect ourselves, we wouldn't have the Jonin or experienced Chunin, we don't even have a Kage! What makes you think you could waltz up into the Leaf Village and expect people to just join your little peace parade, when we don't even have anyone to lead us!" Kura burned her sapphire gaze into this mans. "I don't care if you were from the Leaf Village." Kura stood more defensive firing herself up for the mans response ready to counteract it with another sharp retort.
