Splish...splash...splosh.....splash...
Ok, he's been here a whole minute. Just what the heck is taking his opponent? Maybe I'm just impatient he wondered. He shook it off. Nah, I'm too level headed to be like that. This punk just doesn't want to show up on time. Ji ceased flicking pebbles into the pond centering the arena, and stood up to stretch. "Oh-okay! Might as well get warmed up." he said, twisting his torso to reach his feet and swinging his elbows across his chest.
Ok, maybe he was being impatient. Another 25 seconds and still nothing? Ji was itching to fight, and he was sure he would begin to lose his edge the longer he waited. The boy decided to head back to his starting point [between the pond and edge of the arena, opposite of the entry point.] and continued his stretching with some quick jabs and kicks, making sure he still functioned well. "Gotta be fast. Gotta be loose. Gotta be a champ!" He struck a champion's pose, both hands up in the air in the "rock out" fashion.
Oh yeah, he was ready.

Opening the door in front of him, Tenshi stepped forward into the battle field. Tenshi proceeded to saunter ahead at a casual pace, no need to rush; the fighting would soon be under way. As always Tenshi took note of his surroundings. Arena walls encircled him on all sides, straight ahead were four medium to large rocks, in the middle of these sat a pond, and from the pond emanated the soft sounds of splashing. Ever so softly the breeze carried the drifting noises to his ear. Tenshi quickened his stride, his senses now mingled with a sense of anticipation. It had been some time since he had the chance to engage in a competition, to show his superiority. Chills slowly crept up Tenshi’s defined yet slender body through his spine, he reached out in front of him interlocking his fingers in a stretch. As his hands fell at his side Tenshi caught sight of another man; a smile stretched across his snake bit lips. Tenshi formed a hand seal, immediately following he Shunshined on top of the rock closest to the other man’s starting point. He ran his right hand through his shaggy brown hair as he called out, “Right here!”

"Ah-ha!" Ji chuckled aloud as he heard the doors to the arena swing ominously open. He would watch his opponent make his way towards the center, noting his characteristics. His purple coat fluttered ever so gently, clinging to the soft edges of the breeze as he strolled. Quite angelic looking, if Ji may say so himself. Were it not for his hair, height, and purple get-up, Ji believed others could mistake them to be brothers. Though he isn't at ripped as me, he thought, taking pleasure in the fact.
Suddenly, the man made a seal, cautioning the ever-watching Ji. As swift as his opponent, he drew his hand to sword's handle, peeking up from his adjacent shoulder, though his fingers would only graze its surface. He next spotted the man atop a nearby boulder, greeting him in a cool tone. No, not just cool. There was something else in his voice: something similar to his own. It took him a moment to recognize it.
The throbbing itch for fighting.
Ji moved his hand from his weapon, and found it a new home in his pant pocket. "Do you know how long you kept me waiting? I was about to go mad..." He gave his opponent a deep-chinned nod. "The name's Seizonsha Jiriki. Since opponents can be closer than most friends, you can call me Ji."

The pale grey eye’s of Tenshi were locked with the other man the moment he took his place on the rock. The gaze wasn’t one of hatred or a fueled rage, it was something more along the lines of a mutual understanding. Tenshi could see the look in his eyes, that spark that burned in his core, the fire of ambition that could easily burst forth into a wildfire of passion for fighting. Tenshi himself was well aware of the feeling himself, and found solace knowing that this was gonna be more than your average showdown.
Tenshi proceeded to exchange pleasantries with the man and introduced himself as well, in a not-so spectacular fashion.
“Call me Tenshi…Ji, and don’t worry about the wait we’ll kick things off tight about now….”
As the words left his mouth Tenshi’s mouth he formed a hand seal, consuming him in an explosion of smoke. Bursting forth from the grey cloud was an exact replica of Tenshi, charging forward toward the man, smoke still clinging to his angelic features. The original Tenshi still stood observing, watching as everything hit the fan.

Double-yew tea eff?
Tournaments are so hard to understand during wartime. Some have an initial starting cue, while others let people leap straight into battle. Oh well, he didn't care too much.
Ji watched as another seal formed from Tenshi's hands, and a powdery grey smoke envelop his being. Suddenly, a figure pulled itself out the veil, rushing straight towards Ji.
Ji reached into his right-hand ninja pouch, withdrawing a unique kunai. He would stand in a defensive stance, his hand brought close to his chest, tightly gripping its handle. The blade aimed carefully at the oncoming target.
Something still irked a question, though. A smokescreen with a single hand seal? he asked himself. I was watching him the whole time. No one could throw a smoke bomb that fast... His eyes glanced back up to the thin smoke, in which a figure still stood. Oh, that's his game, eh?
"Tenshi, eh? Mommy must've thought of you as her little angel." he taunted, a smirk scarring across his face.

“Maybe my mom thought of me as an Angel, but you, as well as the rest of the world, will soon see me as a God,” Tenshi smugly shot back, a smirk gracing his face.
Tesnhi could already tell he was going to immensely enjoy fighting this guy. He liked a little smack talk on the side, but does this guy have what it takes to back it up. “Maybe he’s just all talk like everyone else, either way I don’t think it matters,” Tenshi thought to himself. With this thought leaving his mind Tenshi watched as his Bunshin made his way towards Ji.
The Bunshin was now in a dead sprint, the distance between it and Ji was now only a few feet away. Tenshi already knew what was going to happen next, he was ready to make a move regardless of what happened. The Bunshin tucked one knee under it’s body initiating a slide similar to a baseball slide, except the foot was aimed directly for the left knee, in attempts to kick it in backwards.

The smoke would begin to clear, making the image of Tenshi become even more defined. "Oh, fun! The clone game. Don't tell me yet; I'm good at this." In the corner of his eye, the other Tenshi would make his move, sprinting into a sliding kick. Tenshi lowered his kunai, though his grip on it didn't change. The enemy's kick drew ever closer, but Ji didn't take his eyes off of the one of the rock.
Finally, when the kick was only a few inches away, Ji quickly drew his left knee up to his chest, his opponent sliding a few inches underneath his raised leg. Then he would bring it down swiftly, his leg going completely through the attacking Tenshi's stomach. The ground beneath his foot would crack from the raw power. The poor sap would display only a moment of great pain before dispersing. "What was that sucker made of? My foot went straight through him." Despite the question, Ji already knew. Not a regular bunshin, as the smoke was disrupted when he rushed towards Ji. Most likely made of Fuuton. Awesome.
By now, the smoke should be completely dissipated, completely unveiling Tenshi. Ji's eyes would flare with great intensity after seeing what his opponent was capable of.

Slowly the smoke dissipated from around Tenshi, lifting the shroud that surrounded him. Now, Tenshi was clearly visible standing upon the rock, the sun was setting behind him blanketing his features in a dark silhouette. The fun was only beginning for Tenshi, he could already tell that the man favored Taijutsu over Ninjutsu. Ji immediately drew a kunai and took a familiar stance, even when the clone had came in for a mediocre strike Ji still chose to counter with simple Taijutsu. Tenshi certainly wasn’t going to underestimate the man’s Ninjutsu capabilities in the least, that would be a huge folly on his part, however he knew brute strength and Taijutsu were the method of choice.
“Poor guy. Quite a shame that was. You didn’t even give him a chance to have any fun, but I think we should try that one more time,” Tenshi replied forming another hand seal.
Another cloud of smoke consumed the battlefield, spreading over the barren ground towards Ji and slowly crawling it’s way over the water behind Tenshi. Bursting forth from the smoke were two more Wind Clones, one flanking from the right and the other flanking from the left. Instead of taking the opportunity to change positions in the dense cloud cover Tenshi decided he liked his perch much better, it offered quite the vantage point. His line of sight was un-hindered in all directions making the spot nearly perfect, not to mention the fact that Tenshi just liked being above Ji, afterall, it was his place.

This guy's attitude is freaking annoying: It's too much like mine. Ji thought. But something else in his words concerned him. Tenshi was most likely sending clones to test Ji's ability, or getting him to use show some of his tricks. Either way, it wouldn't work.
The seal was the trigger for Ji's next action. He made a dash at the original Tenshi, his kunai pulled close to his chest again. Though he wouldn't use his infamous full speed yet; he would lower it to a quick run, ready to leap from any point-blank attacks were to be performed.
As he ran, a new veil of smoke enveloped, even larger than before. Bursting from the smoke were two Tenshis, one charging either side of him. More freakin' clones? I don't feel like dealing with this right now... he thought, slightly increasing his speed to outrun the pursuing clones.
He would be very close to the stone where his opponent stood, ready to slice Tenshi, when something would almost make him laugh. Here his opponent was, making clones inside a smokescreen, yet keeping his position easily noticeable.
For one to surround himself in smoke that is easy to see through is beyond Ji's comprehension of stupid.

As Tenshi was finishing his hand seal, his opponent took off in a sprint straight for the rock Tenshi was standing on. No doubt it was to shorten the distance between himself and Tenshi for a little bit of hand to hand. However, this wasn’t the plan whatsoever, and Tenshi had no intentions of letting the battle be fought outside of his terms. He wasn’t intimidated in the least, simply put; he just didn’t enjoy having to get filthy when the occasion didn’t call for it. On top of this, he could tell that Ji was uncomfortable at a distance. So why not keep him at bay for a little while? It seemed like fun for the moment.
“This one’s persistent,” Tenshi thought out loud.
The clones had just emerged from the smoke as Ji had started his sprint, leaving the clones in pursuit diagonally behind him to his left and right. This cut out nearly all of his escape routes, putting Tenshi at an advantage for the time being. As soon as Ji entered into the smoke, the original Tenshi fired off a jutsu directly where he had seen his opponent enter the smoke. In an instant an invisible beam of piercing wind was fired off into the smoke, aimed directly for Ji. The odds of seeing it coming were…well zero since the beam was completely invisible.
