Today was an oddity for Chi, a trip down off of Mt. Kaka-zan. He'd left Natsumi at the mountain to care for their infant child... rather the child of her and Minoru Naoki, which he'd stolen away when he rescued her from him and claimed as his own. The baby was an enigma to Chi, mumbling incoherently and drooling all over the place. And by the gods did it cry. Unable to cope with the wails any longer, drowning out even the distant howls of the monkeys on the mountain, he'd wandered off in search of some quiet... and gotten himself lost. He was now standing bewildered in an open field, accompanied by an equally confused group of three chimps. Chi stood up from his usual crouch, gazing at the horizon, his exceedingly long chestnut braid floating in the wind like a ribbon. His vibrant purple top also billowed, especially in its enormous sleeves. "Ello!" he called out, hoping that someone might be in earshot. "Could anyone direct me to the nearest monkey-infested mountain?"

Kogashu Fuuma, jounin of Oto and host to the Sanbi, was prowling the area of the Land of Sound. He often walked, learning the ins and outs of the land he lived in, trying to see if anything will help him recover from his amnesia. Minoru Naoki promised him his memories for undying loyalty, and it has been working. Some memories have been returned to him, and for that, Kogashu is eternally grateful to him. His headband caught the light of the sun, reflecting it far away. He ducked his head down to get out of the light, and continued to walk, before sensing a chakra. He smiled his crazy smile and thought, 'Looks like I'll do some killing today after all!'[/b] He began to run towards the chakra, stopping before he got too close.
He heard the question and replied, "I am afraid I cannot help you find a mountain....but I can find you your death!"

Chi, hearing the man, turned to face him. "Thanks, but I'm really only looking for the mountain today. I don't really need to be guided to my death." He grinned, unfazed. "Though I'm curious as to why you're eager to point me in that direction. Have we met? Did I skip out on a tab at your ramen shop? Peek on your sister in the hotsprings? Your brother, perhaps?"

Something about he way the man talked hit him in the face like a brick. He wasn't shouting inane threats, or running, or begging. He was calm, vibrant. It almost made Kogashu not want to kill him. He was actually having second thoughts. "You have....done nothing. I am from the Sound Village, and you must be from a enemy village!"

Chi spun around, pointing with both thumbs over his shoulders at the plate on his back, which was a Kumogakure plate with a slash through it. "Not quite. I'm from Mt. Kaka-zan, right here in the Rice Field Country. I'm one of about 103 up there... of course, about 100 of them are monkeys. I'm just a hermit, guy. I was with Kumo once, but I didn't fit in."

Kogashu looked at the man and his scratched plate, signifying severed ties with the village. He wanted to fight. It had been forever. He set his supplies down and faced him, getting in a stance. He looked left, nothing. He looked right, an average sized pond sat there. He smiled. "We will fight."

"We will? Now you can see into the future? Who are we fighting?" Chi asked sarcastically. "Seriously, what's your issue? I'm just trying to get back to my mountain. You even said yourself I haven't done anything." The three monkeys with him reared back and bared their teeth as a warning. Chi put his hand on the staff that was strapped to his back. "There's no reason we have to fight."

Kogashu looked at the ninja, exasperated. "We will. You seem like a worthy opponent, and I revel in the feeling of battle" He wanted to fight. This shinobi seemed strong. Inside of him, the Sanbi stirred. It wanted out, wanted to battle. He would give him a fight alright. 'Let's see what is stronger, monkeys, or turtles."

"I don't suppose telling you that I'm a failure as a ninja would make you reconsider? No? Didn't figure." He drew his staff, holding it out in front of him, crouched low. "You guys might want to get out of here. I get the feeling this guy's pretty strong." he said to the monkeys, who nodded and bounded away, leaving only the two of them. "But I'll need to be home for dinner, or Natsumi will kill me. Frankly, facing the angry wife is a bit more threatening to me than a Sound ninja. Hell hath no fury and all that."

"It will not." Kogashu said finally. He watched the monkeys leave, and immediately developed a plan. He took a step forward, and disappeared. He re-appeared behind the man, aiming a swift kick at the back of his head, attempting to get the first strike of the match. WHoever landed the first strike would win the battle.
